My Body, My Journey with Dr. Ednita Wright

Learning to love your body is essential on your path to healing.

In this episode of the Consciously Awesome Show, Dr. Nina Wright and Sheila Applegate share tools to care for your body with love even through chronic illness.

As a Professor, Consultant, and Therapist, Dr. Nina has dedicated her life to advocating for others. With a diagnosis of Lupus, these skills of advocacy became essential to her wellbeing as she navigated the health system.

Throughout this journey, Dr. Nina drew from her spiritual training as an Ordained Minister, Reiki Practitioner, Traditional Healer, and Certified Consciously Awesome Program Facilitator.

The tools in Consciously Awesome brought all of this together, giving Dr. Nina a new level of self-love and empowerment.

Dr. Ednita. Wright (Dr. Nina), Ph.D., LCSW, CASAC, recently retired after thirty-five years as a Professor of the Human Services and Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling.

Dr. Nina has consulted for over twenty-five years with community agencies and academic institutions regarding issues of bias with the primary objective of moving away from tolerance to authentic inclusion for all.

Dr. Nina is a certified facilitator of the Consciously Awesome program.

She apprenticed with Grandmother Twylah, Wolf Clan, Cattaraugus Reservation, 1989-1992.

She is a second-degree Reiki practitioner, trained by Mary Riposo, and an Ordained Minister.

In 2014 Dr. Nina received the Nine Great Rites of Munay-Ki, Shaman Initiation.
